Futures with(out) Work is a research initiative at the University of Gothenburg run by a group of researchers studying various aspects of work, work life, and knowledge production. Our goal is to provide actionable and impactful research and education about digital work futures to the public.
Futures with(out) Work explores how digital technology is reshaping when, where, and how we will work in the future. The technological developments will change how we conceive employment policies, design work, lead organizations, plan our careers and educate future generations. Futures with(out) Work studies potential futures where traditional work may radically change or even vanish, offering insights for policymakers, businesses, labor groups, and the general public to take a proactive role in shaping the future with an emphasis on sustainability, resilience, inclusivity, and ethical technology integration.
