FWork group participated in the 16th Organizations, Artifacts and Practices (OAP) workshop that took place in Copenhagen (Jun 2nd-4th). The workshop was hosted by the Copenhagen Business School. The theme of the workshop this year was “The Living Wildness of Organizing: Nurturing Ecologies of Possibilities”.
Daniel Curto-Millet and Aleksandre Asatiani presented group’s new research project on The Small Web, discussing whether it is the future of internet infrastructure, countercultural movements, or simply nostalgia for the pre-Web 2.0 internet.
Lisen Selander gave a talk “The Institutional, the Digital and the Wild” – covering her work together with Sirkka Jarvenpaa focusing on the role of digitalization in volunteer recruitment and retention at the The Red Cross.
Our colleague and PhD researcher at the University of Gothenburg Jessica Nordlander presented the research in progress paper on moral distance and digital organizing. The presentation discussed how digital technology can create moral distance in sensitive context of remote terminations, and what implications such distance may have.
The talks generated a lot of productive discussions and provided us with many ideas for the future directions for our research.
